Tuesday - 11/16/2021

The Flash - Season 8 Premiere "Armageddon, Part 1" 1) Barry and Team Flash worked to stop the Royal Flush Gang, who were stealing high-end tech in robberies that seemed different from their usual M.O. 2) Ray Palmer was in town for a tech conference and Chester was a little too eager to please. 3) Allegra was given a promotion by Iris but found her co-workers resistant to her ideas. 4) A mind-controlling Alien named Despero arrived from 2031 blaming Barry for Armageddon. Last Minute Reveal: Despero gave Barry one week to prove his virtue or face death!

Wednesday - 11/17/2021

DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S07E06 "Deus Ex Latrina" 1) Bishop built a duplicate Waverider and brought Ava Prime and the augmented evil Gideon on a mission to enact revenge on the Legends. 2) After the proto-time machine stranded the Legends in a non-descript forest, Beyrad and Totem Zari struggled to convince Dr. Davies that life was still worth living. 3) Nate contemplated moving in with Totem Zari while trying to ignore nosy Gary and human Gideon. 4) Astra and Spooner split up with Ava and Sara to let the couple vent their frustrations. Last Minute Reveal: Bishop used the ejector toilet to exit the Waverider and landed on Dr. Davies' time machine just as it took the Legends away!

Batwoman - S03E06 "How Does Your Garden Grow?" 1) Montoya tasked Ryan and the Batcave with finding an attacker infected by Poison Ivy's vines and the culprit turned out to be Mary. 2) Sophie was on the warpath trying to learn more about the Black Glove Society and believed Ryan was holding back info on Jada Jet. Last Minute Reveal: Alice and the Ivy-corrupted Mary joined forces and drove off in a fancy car!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Doctors Getting Personal Revelations - All 3 shows featured characters with Doctorates of some kind learning about themselves. The Flash convinced Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) that he could live a balanced life and still make time to help young inventors. Dr. Gwyn Davies (Matt Ryan) was taught the basics of therapy by the Legends. Finally, Mary (Nicole Kang) had to get infected by a rash and become a rageful plant monster to come to terms with the fact that she felt slighted by team Batwoman.

Tuesday - 11/9/2021

Supergirl - Series Finale Part 1 "The Last Gauntlet" 1) Kara and the Tower had differing opinions on how to respond to Lex Luthor's ransom demands for Esme. 2)  While Nxly tried retrieving the Love Totem from Esme, Lillian Luthor dropped in to warn that Lex was bad news. Last Minute Reveal: After listening to Orlando tell a group of bystanders to keep hope, Kara got an idea about how to prevent Lex and Nxly from leeching all of the city's virtue!

Supergirl - Series Finale Part 2 "Kara" 1) Supergirl gave an inspirational speech to the world and joined forces with super friends from past and present for a final showdown against Lex and Nxly. 2) Lena made peace with the dying Lillian and finally gained full control of her witch powers. 3) After William's funeral, Andrea set up a school in his name, J'onn and the Tower heroes re-established the DEO and Mon-El and Brainy said their goodbyes before heading back to the future. 4) Kelly and Alex had a beautiful wedding. 5) Cat Grant bought back Catco and offered Kara a job as Editor-in-Chief but Kara was torn about continuing her double life. Last Minute Reveal: As everyone enjoyed game night, a news report came on of Cat Grant introducing Kara Danvers to the world as Supergirl!

Wednesday - 11/10/2021

DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S07E05 "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Scientist" 1) Sara and the Legends found Dr. Gwyn Davies and left timeline footprints trying to get his prototype time machine up and running. 2) Totem Zari tinkered with the Hoover robot while figuring out if she and Nate could have a long term relationship. 3) Astra cast a luck spell on a rock in hopes that she, Spooner and Gideon could reach the other Legends in New York faster. Last Minute Reveal: The time machine worked but instead of landing in 2021 Tahiti, the Legends found themselves in a forest with no sign of civilization in sight!

Batwoman - S03E05 "A Lesson from Professor Pyg" 1) Ryan brought Sophie along to a dinner party and Jada Jet's mansion where the chef turned out to be Professor Pyg. 2) Alice was pulled into consulting on a Catwoman copycat murder case and discovered Renee Montoya's secret connection to Poison Ivy. 3) The rash Mary picked up in the park made her agitated and aggressively eco-conscious. Last Minute Reveal: Jada admitted to Ryan that her brother Marquis was a homicidal sociopath and asked for her help!

Thursday - 11/11/2021

Doom Patrol - Season 3 Finale "Amends Patrol" 1) Rita was so dead set on getting revenge against Madame Rouge that she did not care that no one on the team had her back. 2) Madame Rouge put Cliff's brain in control of a 30-foot tall robot. 3) Vic tried to help Larry decide to merge with the injured radioactive grubworm. 4) Jane found the Underground caved in and had to convince Dr. Harrison and the others to leave the Fog and return to Kay's subconscious. Last Minute Reveal: The emboldened Doom Patrol piled into Cliff's head and latched onto Rita's time machine as it drilled it's way to a mission to stop a monster shaped like a nutsack in the Suez Canal!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) - Supergirl ended strong this week and the high note by far had to be the surprise appearance of Cat Grant. Her brief moments, which were shot seperate from the rest of production (Flockhart left the series because she did not want to move from LA to Vancouver), were just delightful and reminded me of the hole left by her absence. Even though I was alone watching this, I cheered at the top of my lungs when she showed up.

Y: The Last Man - Series Finale "Victoria" 1) Some time before the Day of, the Brown family had an awkward last dinner together. 2) 355 was anxious to leave the prison town as Yorick began to fall for Sonia. 3) Nora and Roxanne prepared to invade the prison town and kill the man they were hiding. 4) Jennifer and Beth hid out after escaping the Pentagon and accused each other of being short-sighted. Last Minute Reveal: 355, Yorick and Allison jumped into an SUV provided by the Culper Ring and drove toward a Y-shaped intersection!

Tuesday - 11/2/2021

DC's Stargirl - Season 2 Finale "Summer School Chapter Thirteen" 1) Courtney and the JSA headed to town square for a final showdown with Eclipso. 2) Jenny was warning Barbara that Courtney was heading into a trap when a special guest star showed up. 3) Beth stood helpless with Chuck as she watched her parents stuck in one of Eclipso's nightmares. 4) Rick, Mike and Jakeem tried tinkering in Pat's garage, anxious to join the fight. Last Minute Reveal: Nurse Love reported on Jenny and the JSA to Mr. Bones, who decided to make a trip to Blue Valley!

Supergirl - Season 6 Penultimate "Truth or Consequences" 1) William becaame furious with Andrea after she used his byline to leak Lex Luthor's love journals 2) Nxly slowly began to trust Lex after he helped her beat Supergirl to the Truth totem. 3) Alex clashed with Kara over advice on parenting Esme. 4) Brainy was crushed to learn he would soon have to return to the future and leave Nia behind. Last Minute Reveal: Our heroes returned to the Tower to find William dead and Esme gone!

Wednesday - 11/3/2021

DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S07E04 "Speakeasy Does It" 1) The Legends ran out of money in Chicago and hid out from J. Edgar Hoover in a progressive speakeasy. 2) Astra, Spooner and Gideon snuck onto a train and befriended a nightclub singer. Last Minute Reveal: Zari swapped out with totem Zari so she could crack open robot Hoover!

Batwoman - S03E04 "Antifreeze" 1) Team Batwoman had to find a way to safely thaw Sophie's sister Jordan, who had been flash-frozen using altered Mr. Freeze tech. 2) Ryan drew corporate wrath from Jada after a photo-op. 3) Alice played hooky from Arkham after realizing she was having hallucinations. 4) Tensions and ignorance continued to drive a wedge between Mary and Luke. Last Minute Reveal: Jada determined that the first victim of the Back Glove Society's new freeze gun would be her son Marquis!

Thursday - 11/4/2021

Doom Patrol - Season 3 Penultimate "Evil Patrol" 1) Rita had a rough time getting the team to focus on defeating Madame Rouge, who had flown to Florida for backup. 2) Larry decided to try and parent the alien grub worm, which was not reacting well to all the negative emotions around the mansion. 3) Vic was the only one happy about his new skin. 4) Clara brought Cliff his Parkinson's meds and insisted he see a real doctor. 5) Jane was frightened to find all of Kay's personalities had left the Underground. Last Minute Reveal: The Doom Patrol's bus crashed down to the pavement after being rocked by Jane's sonic scream!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  The Batwing Suit Failsafe - Luke got the AI with his dad’s voice working again on the Batwing suit and was told that he is not ready to take it into the field with Batwoman. He is still dealing with the trauma of getting shot and it is brave of this series to admit that being a superhero is not for everybody. Luke's tech skills still make him invaluable to team Batwoman and while I am sure this is not the last we have seen of Luke in that suit, this excursion into his mental health feels authentic and unique.

Y: The Last Man - Series Penultimate "Peppers" 1) Agent 355 battled flashbacks to her childhood spy training while Yorick and Allison got friendly with their inmate neighbors. 2) After plundering a settlement, Nora and Roxanne butted heads over the practical goals of the Amazons. 3) Moments after Regina and Kimberly revealed Yorick's survival and turned the situation room against Jennifer, Beth's group of extremists infiltrated the Pentagon. Last Minute Reveal: After getting Jennifer out of the Pentagon, Beth asked if Yorick was alive!

Tuesday - 10/26/2021

DC's Stargirl - Season 2 Penultimate "Summer School Chapter Twelve" 1) Courtney and family reluctantly decided to trust Cindy and let her stick around as they waited out Eclipso. 2) Beth and Chuck finally got to meet face-to-face and merged their goggles to analyze dark energy residue. 3) Courtney and Pat each tried reaching out to bring Yolanda and Rick back into the fold. 4) Mike followed the giant cheeseburgers to track down Jakeem and the Thunderbolt. Last Minute Reveal: Jennifer woke up after dreaming Courtney would become Eclipso's new host!

Supergirl - S06E17 "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" 1) Lex came back from the future in love with Nxly and committed to helping her defeat the Super Friends 2) Alex's plan to propose to Kelly was ruined when Al's bar was booked for a private party. Last Minute Reveal: A mark that looked just like the Love totem began to grow on Esme's neck!

Wednesday - 10/27/2021

DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S07E03 "wvrdr_error_100 not found" 1) After Gideon crashed in a Texas barn, Astra and Spooner entered her mind to try and patch together Gideon's memories and thwart off a virus. 2) In 2213, a hungover, mind-wiped Bishop examined a digital copy of Gideon's OS. Last Minute Reveal: Bishop removed Gideon's humanity protocols and was ready to use her to enact revenge on the Legends!

Batwoman - S03E03 "Freeze" 1) Ryan and Luke went after a canister of Mr. Freeze's liquid nitrogen and a group of mercenaries who kidnapped the cold man's widow. 2) After Ryan's birth mother rejected her, Ryan's newfound brother offered a business partnership. 3) Alice faked an illness and tried playing head games with Mary. Last Minute Reveal: Vines wrapped themselves around Mary's legs and pulled her into the bushes!

Thursday - 10/28/2021

Doom Patrol - S03E08 "Subconscious Patrol" 1) In 1949, Rita became enraged over Laura's betrayal. 2) In the present, the Eternal Flagellation began and the Doom Patrol was swapped out with their subconscious selves. 3) Vic relived an awkward moment in a toy store that made him feel he needed to soldier up. 4) Crazy Jane found herself turned into a puppet arguing trauma with the other underground personas. 5) Cliff was a racecar driver again, skipping out on fatherhood for a sleazy party. 6) Larry was back at his wedding day, deciding whether or not to live a lie. Last Minute Reveal: As the fog faded away after the Eternal Flagellation, Rita came face-to-face with Madame Rouge!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Gideon's Memories - The Legends celebrated their 100th episode this week and Gideon's trip down memory lane brought back some friendly faces I have missed. It showed just how much this series has changed over the years. Plus, it reminded me their was once a Hawkman in the Arrowverse.

Y: The Last Man - S01E08 "Ready. Aim. Fire." 1) In the days after, Roxanne was not truthful in the way she established the haven at PriceMax. 2) In the present, Roxanne negged Hero and bullied Sam into leaving. 3) Nora became distraught and manic after being told she and Mackenzie would also have to leave soon. Last Minute Reveal: Feet away from the burned remains of the PriceMax, Roxanne took Nora's advice and riled up the women, comparing them to Amazons!

Tuesday - 10/19/2021

DC's Stargirl - S02E11 "Summer School Chapter Eleven" 1) Courtney found herself trapped, wandering the Shadowlands and discovered Cindy Burman and Dr. Midnite were both still alive. 2) Beth learned from Dr. Midnite that Jennifer could use her Dad's green ring to locate the Shade. Last Minute Reveal: Seconds after the Shade's noble death, Cindy was ready to Kill Eclipso!

Supergirl - S06E16 "Nightmare in National City" 1) After Nxly let a nightmare monster out on her way into the Dream Realm, Supergirl and the Tower erected a force field to trap the monster, which drew political flack from the governor. 2) Kara convinced Andrea to let her interview two world leaders in the midst of peace talks and then let her super duties get in the way of her day job. 3) Nia went to her resentful sister Maeve for help locating the dream totem inside the Dream Realm. Last Minute Reveal: Nyxly put the dream totem in her broken tech suit's hand and Lex Luthor appeared before her!

Wednesday - 10/20/2021

DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S07E02 "The Need for Speed" 1) Nate felt guilty for killing J. Edgar Hoover and decided to pose as him on a train to keep the timeline intact. 2) Sara and Ava tried slipping away to the pocket dimension for a little honeymoon and found Zari high on pot gummies. 3) Astra and Spooner were clueless about how to care for and communicate with the new human Gideon. Last Minute Reveal: Gideon revealed that if they did not reach Dr. Gwyn Davies soon, the Legends would die!

Batwoman - S03E02 "Loose Tooth" 1) Alice was released into Ryan's custody and the pair began work tracking a possible new Killer Croc. 2) Luke was still having trouble with the Batwing suit and Mary suggested she give Luke a medical exam. 3) Ryan's biological mother, CEO Jada Jet, landed her chopper on the Wayne building and wanted answers about a data breach at her company. Last Minute Reveal: Ryan barged into Jada Jet's office and revealed she was Jada's daughter!

Thursday - 10/21/2021

Doom Patrol - S03E07 "Bird Patrol" 1) In 1949, Rita and the Sisterhood of Dada became concerned Laura had lost her way recruiting weapons for the Bureau and decided to start planning the Eternal Flaggellation. 2) In the present, Laura began to freak out after flyers for the Fog began appearing everywhere. 3) Vic contemplated getting surgery to remove all his tech and replace it with synthetic skin. 4) Jane was furious that Cliff sold off all her stuff, left him at his daughter's doorstep and tried to convince a crying Kay that she did not have to be scared of leaving the Underground. 5) Larry coughed up a space parasite. Last Minute Reveal: The Doom Patrol stood dumbfounded as the winged-lower-faces each flew at them and made them disappear!

Titans - Season 3 Finale "Purple Rain" 1) Scarecrow set off a fear bomb in Gotham and warned the Titans that there were 10 more across the city. 2) Dick rounded up the Titans and put a plan into motion to regain control of Wayne Manor and create a Lazarus storm to revive Gothamites killed by the first bomb. 3) Vee helped Barbara take back GCPD and revealed she was an ARGUS operative. 4) Dick made up with Jason and gave him a second chance. 5) Blackfire forgave Connor for blowing up her spaceship. Last Minute Reveal: Raven used her powers to give Crane a lifetime of nightmares in Arkham!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Bubble Worlds - All of this week's episodes featured people escaping from or hiding out in little pockets of civilization cut off from the rest of the world. On Y, Nora felt trapped in the PriceMax and had to burn it to the ground to gain leverage with Roxanne. Stargirl fought her way out of the Shadowlands. Nia brought her sister into the Dream Realm in an effort to help Supergirl. A few of the Legends got to relax and regroup in the pocket mansion. The new Killer Croc wandered the Gotham sewers, waiting out Batwoman. The Doom Patrol all ended up getting enveloped in the fog. Finally, the Titans used the Lazarus Pit to create a purple rain cloud over Gotham Plaza and resurrect the innocent victims of Scarecrow's fear bomb.

Monday - 10/11/2021

Y: The Last Man - S01E07 "My Mother Saw A Monkey" 1) 355 fell asleep at the wheel and crashed an RV, getting herself, Allison and Yorick captured by a considerate village of former prison inmates. 2) Kimberly figured out that Yorick was alive and argued with her mother about God's plan. 3) Yorick's girlfriend Beth showed up at the White House gate and Jennifer was excited to up with her. Last Minute Reveal: After leaving the White House, Beth got in a van and told her friends that the situation inside is shaky at best!

Tuesday - 10/12/2021

DC's Stargirl - S02E10 "Summer School Chapter Ten" 1) Courtney and Pat talked out their trust issues on a drive to find Jennifer and ask her to fuse the Black Diamond back together. 2) Beth came over to help watch over the house and try to reach Dr. McNider while Barbara nursed the wounded Shade. 3) Mike snuck out to tinker with S.T.R.I.P.E. and heard a news story about pink lightning. Last Minute Reveal: Pat was stunned after helplessly watching Courtney get pulled into the Shadowlands by Eclipso!

Supergirl - S06E15 "Hope for Tomorrow" 1) Kara was tasked with inspiring lasting hope to earn a totem after Nxly used her magic to ruin peace talks at the Hague and take William hostage. 2) Alex and Kelly welcomed Esme into their home and tried to help her learn to control her alien mimic powers. DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 7 Premiere "The Bullet Blondes" 1) The Legends found themselves stranded in 1925 Odessa, Texas, and drew the attention of J. Edgar Hoover. 2) Ava began to feel out of her depth and freaked out by the timeline risks Sara and the team were taking. 3) Zari discovered that the key Constantine left her opened a door to a private pocket dimension. 4) Astra pushed herself too hard trying to magic a solution. Last Minute Reveal: After Spooner and Astra declared each other BFFs, a whisp of red smoke turned into Gideon in human form!

Batwoman - Season 3 Premiere "Mad as a Hatter" 1) An Alice-obsessed mental health patient got his hands on the Mad Hatter's mind-controlling top hat. 2) Mary was finally graduating med school as Valedictorian. 3) Luke's new bat-suit kept malfunctioning. 4) Sophie offered to look into Alice's claims about Ryan's birth mother. Last Minute Reveal: Renee Montoya strongarmed Ryan into joining forces with Alice to recover all the missing Batcave trophies!

Thursday - 10/14/2021

Doom Patrol - S03E06 "1917 Patrol" 1) Rita climbed out of the time machine in 1917 with her memories purged and was brought to Laura DeMille at the Bureau of Normalcy. 2) Larry tried caring and sharing with his estranged son. 3) Jane encouraged Kay to take control of her own body and go shopping for new shoes. 4) Vic went on a nature hike to try and find his true self. 5) Cliff sat splurging all his money away on internet poker and a webcam girl named Ginger. Last Minute Reveal: Present day Laura received a message in fire that read "Piffle-Paffle!"

Titans - Season 3 Penultimate "Prodigal" 1) Rachel and Gar dropped Dick into a Lazarus Pit and waited for him to battle it out for his soul. 2) Tim argued with Donna and his family over whether to escape the city or stay and defend Gotham. 3) Blackfire and Connor teamed up on a revenge quest. Last Minute Reveal: The GCPD delivered crates full of Scarecrow's fear toxin to Wayne Manor!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Fear - Characters in all of our shows this week were afraid... very afraid. Yorick (Y: The Last Man), Allison and 355 were afraid that their reformed prisoner hosts might not accept them. Eclipso continued to terrify Stargirl and all her friends and family. On Supergirl, poor little Esme was scared that Kelly and Alex might change their mind about adopting her. Ava freaked out that all the timeline changes her fellow Legends were causing would be irreparable. Batwoman and company were all horrified by the new Mad Hatter. Rita's fears were allayed by the joy she discovered hanging with the Sisterhood of Dada, while the rest of the Doom Patrol threw caution to the wind on their own personal journeys. Finally on Titans, Dick had to reconcile his feeling of fear and rage in order to swim his way out of the Lazarus Pit.

Monday - 10/4/2021

Y: The Last Man - S01E06 "Weird Al Is Dead" 1) 355 brought Yorick and Dr. Mann to hold up in a church after she saw soldiers flashing her picture around. 2) Kimberly showed Regina Oliver around the White House, trying to figure out their next power play. 3) Hero, Sam and Nora each had different experiences getting used to life under Roxanne's rule at the Price Max. Last Minute Reveal: Nora witnessed 3 Amazons stomp out poor Kelsey for being friendly with Sam!

Tuesday - 10/5/2021

DC's Stargirl - S02E09 "Summer School: Chapter Nine" 1) While a heavy storm began to hit Blue Valley, Pat thought back on the hard choices the JSA had to make the first time they faced Eclipso. 2) Mike and Barbara were each confronted by members of the Mahkent family looking for revenge. Last Minute Reveal: While Courtney yelled at her mom for keeping secrets from her, Kid Eclipso watched from the window smiling!

Supergirl - S06E14 "Magical Thinking" 1) Kara and the Tower heroes scrambled after Nxly found the Humanity totem and caused everyone in the area to lose all compassion and begin violently attacking each other. 2) Despite encouragement from Kara, Lena was hesitant to try out her new spell book. 3) William began shadowing the Super Friends and became conflicted over what he should or should not report. 4) Kelly placed an alien orphan named Esme with a new foster family and things did not go as planned. Last Minute Reveal: Despite losing the humanity totem, Nxly was determined to collect the rest and succeed!

Thursday - 10/7/2021

Doom Patrol - S03E05 "Dada Patrol" 1) Laura DeMille sent the Doom Patrol to encounter the fog of introspective visions that is the Sisterhood of Dada, and then got drunk with Rita lamenting her crummy lot in life. 2) Cliff got high from overdosing on his Parkinson meds and talked about fearing death with a Japanese girl in a glass box. 3) Vic got turned back online by his Dad and was force to face his identity complex. 4) Jane was wooed by Shelley Byron aka The Fog to let Kay abandon the Underground. 5) Larry developed a growth that kept slithering around under his skin and decided to stay with the bus. Last Minute Reveal: Rita stole Laura's time machine!

Titans - S03E11 "The Call Is Coming from Inside the House" 1) Scarecrow battled his inferiority complex and ordered Jason to call out Dick in public. 2) Dick refused to let Connor join him in the fight. 3) Tim and Donna met up and went to his family's noodle shop to regroup and strategize. 4) Gar and Rachel followed energy flows looking for a Lazarus Pit in Gotham. 5) Kory confronted the mother of a baby she recognized from a vision and saw another vision explaining the truth about her powers. Last Minute Reveal: Jason returned to the Batcave to find a gutted pizza delivery guy and Scarecrow with a slashed face telling him the time for masks was over!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Looming Big Bads - All of our heroes were haunted by the spectre of the main villains in each of their current seasons. Regina Oliver began to strut around the White House, making her presence known to Jennifer on Y. Eclipso decided to haunt all the Dugans with visions on Stargirl. Supergirl was still one step behind Nxly and forced to keep cleaning up all the mess in her wake. The Doom Patrol finally got to meet the Fog and learn about the Flagellation. Finally, Scarecrow had a schizophrenic break on Titans.
