Yorick (Y: The Last Man), Allison and 355 were afraid that their reformed prisoner hosts might not accept them. Eclipso continued to terrify Stargirl and all her friends and family. On Supergirl, poor little Esme was scared that Kelly and Alex might change their mind about adopting her. Ava freaked out that all the timeline changes her fellow Legends were causing would be irreparable. Batwoman and company were all horrified by the new Mad Hatter. Rita's fears were allayed by the joy she discovered hanging with the Sisterhood of Dada, while the rest of the Doom Patrol threw caution to the wind on their own personal journeys. Finally on Titans, Dick had to reconcile his feeling of fear and rage in order to swim his way out of the Lazarus Pit.

DC TV Report for week ending 10/2/2021

 -        Li’l Eddie O’Hare

Welcome to the DC TV Report for the week ending Saturday October 2nd, 2021. I'm here to bring you recaps, news and commentary for all live-action television shows based on DC Comics. There were 5 new episodes this week.

Y: The Last Man - S01E05 "Mann Hunt" 1) Yorick and Agent 355 reached Boston and had to avoid soldiers and insurgents while searching for geneticist Allison Mann. 2) Jennifer was nervous, prepping the White House for the return of Secretary Oliver. 3) Kimberly Cunningham discovered that staffer Christine Flores was pregnant and helped her through a miscarriage scare. Last Minute Reveal: After lying to Yorick about speaking with his mom, 355 checked her bag to make sure her Fran tracker was blinking!

Tuesday - 9/28/2021

DC's Stargirl - S02E08 "Summer School Chapter Eight" 1) On the 4th of July, Rick was forced to call for help when he heard that hunters were going into the woods to take out Grundy. 2) Beth's efforts to contact Dr. McNider were interrupted when Eclipso began appearing to her. 3) Courtney was bummed out after Yolanda quit and anxious that Cosmo was taking so long to heal. Last Minute Reveal: As Barbara and Mike hugged each other to feel safe, the window outside began to frost over and icicles began forming under the rain gutter!

Supergirl - S06E13 "The Gauntlet" 1) After David's slingshot, the totem of courage, was pulled apart, Kara and Nxly each ran gauntlets to try and gain control of the totem while pure courage began to permeate everyone around them. 2) Lena was in denial about the whole "Mom-was-a-witch-and-so-am-I" thing. 3) Dr. Beatrice Lahr became emboldened to steal research data on Project Bolt after her funding was cut. 4) William was down in the dumps after getting chewed out by Andrea for dropping the ball on the Super Friends story. 5) Kelly and Alex had an awkward breakfast talking about balancing the hero stuff with their relationship. Last Minute Reveal: Nxly came to the conclusion that pain was the price of power and became confident that she would succeed in finding the totems!

Thursday - 9/30/2021

Doom Patrol - S03E04 "Undead Patrol" 1) The mysterious woman told the Doom Patrol she had suffered from amnesia but knew she had to find Niles Caulder and needed her time machine repaired. 2) All of our recently resurrected heroes slowly got sick and turned into zombies. 3) Darren Jones stole Niles' enchanted head from Willoughby Kipling and demanded retribution. Last Minute Reveal: A zombified were-butt began running full speed toward Cloverton!

Titans - S03E10 "Troubled Water" 1) Both Barbara Gordon and the Titans found themselves in a quandary after Scarecrow posted a video claiming it was Nightwing who poisoned the water and that the city should rally around Red Hood. 2) On her journey to the Gotham CIty limits, Donna was confronted by Lydia and forced to take a vision quest. Last Minute Reveal: After strolling into the living room of Wayne Manor, Scarecrow stretched out on the couch with a bottle of Scotch while Jason slashed up a portrait of Bruce and his parents!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  The Butt Monsters - I was trying to pull a theme together about women returning home but this week's Doom Patrol just broke me. Legends of Tomorrow has always been regarded as the bonkers DC series but the fact that Doom Patrol airs on a streaming service instead of a broadcast network allows it to reach a whole new level of strange and deranged. The episode "Undead Patrol" just hit a new high point. The legion of shark-toothed "were-butts" as Jane called them were the exact type of absurdism that the world needs right now. I know the concept is terrifyingly stupid, but somehow its very existence gives me faith in humanity.

Last Minute Reveal: Joe and Kramer were on a stake out and their car exploded!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  The Havarak - Legends delivered again this week, this time in the form of a hundred-foot-long alien worm that sweats gold. It was scary and crazy and just the sort of thing you would expect from the most fun DC TV show. I was especially impressed by the CG effects of the monster.

Welcome to the DC TV Report for the week ending Saturday June 12th, 2021. I'm here to bring you recaps, news and commentary for all live-action television shows based on DC Comics. There were 4 new episodes this week.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow – S06E05 "The Satanist's Apprentice" 1) Astra was having a really hard time adjusting to life in the real world and turned to a painting of Aleister Crowley for a magical solution. 2) A megalomaniac trapped Sara and tried convincing her to help him kidnap and mutate all of humanity. Last Minute Reveal: Bishop congratulated Sara on surviving the simulation and told her they were inseparable!

Batwoman - S02E15 "Armed and Dangerous" 1) While lying unconscious in his hospital bed Luke had a vision of Bruce Wayne giving him the choice to survive or join his Dad in the afterlife. 2) Mary and Ryan raced to heal Luke and prove Agent Tavaroff and his Crow lackeys were framing Luke. 3) Alice was upset with Ocean for killing Evelyn Rhyme and found evidence that Roman Sionis had a curious obsession with the Kane family. Last Minute Reveal: Cecille got home, heard a spooky voiceand saw that her reflection in the mirror was wearing a golden mask!

Superman and Lois - S01E09 "Loyal Subjekts" 1) Lois brought in Clark to help with her investigation into Morgan Edge and leaned on Lana to help uncover the "process" Edge was putting his new recruits through. 2) Superman had to ice bullet bruises after stopping a bank robbery and figured out that the Kryptonite gas he was exposed to at General Lane's facility was having lingering effects. 3) Jordan was excited to help Sarah at the talent show but had to bail after a Kryptonite virus he caught from his Dad made him start sneezing icicles. Last Minute Reveal: Morgan Edge revealed himself to be a true Kryptonian and called Superman his brother!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Disneyfied Legends - Sara Netzley would not forgive me if I did not recognize the segment on Legends of Tomorrow where Aleister Crowley transformed the House of Secrets into an animated musical in the style of Beauty and the Beast. Astra's inability to stop singing was only topped by seeing the other Legends as talking household objects. God, I love that crazy show.

DC TV Report for week ending 6/5/2021

-        Li’l Eddie O’Hare

Welcome to the DC TV Report for the week ending Saturday June 5th, 2021. I'm here to bring you recaps, news and commentary for all live-action television shows based on DC Comics. There was 1 new episode this week. Sweet Tooth season 1 will be covered in a separate post later this week.

Tuesday - 6/1/2021

Superman and Lois - S01E08 "Holding the Wrench" 1) Lois decided to see a psychiatrist after past trauma made her lose her temper. 2) Clark and General Lane interrogated the captured John Henry Irons. 3) Sarah was encouraged to get over her anxiety and audition for a musical. 4) Kyle found out Lana told Morgan Edge not to hire him. Last Minute Reveal: Free to go, Irons deactivated his AI, pulled out of the Kent farm and decided to drive for a while!

Ed’s Winner for the Week:  Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) - Lois really got put through the ringer this week. She found out the stranger was married to another version of her in a different dimension, had to relive the trauma of her miscarriage and confirmed suspicions that her Dad is developing weapons that could kill her husband. Through it all she pulled it together, was not afraid to reach out for help and talked down a terrorist. Letting John Henry Irons drive away free may have been a questionable choice, but for now let's call it a big win for everyone's favorite reporter this week. P.S. It was scary how much Lois reminded me of my Mom when she screamed at Jonathan. Just saying... Ah, memories...
